The Sea Grant Oil Spill Science Outreach Team has announced a new opportunity to learn more about oil spill response and the science that guides it. Responding to oil spills: Coastal wetland habitats will take place on October 26 in Biloxi, Mississippi. A live, interactive webcast will be available for those who cannot attend in person.
This seminar is targeted for researchers, emergency responders, and others interested in how science is currently and can be incorporated into response efforts. Through panel discussions and case studies, we’ll learn how oil spill response works and new science that can be used to respond to, monitor, and recover from oil spills. One of three Responding to oil spills seminars, another in November will focus on nearshore habitats and beaches and one in December on offshore response techniques.
