Sea Grant programs in the Gulf of Mexico play important roles in enhancing community resilience through many efforts. They engage with community leaders and residents in National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) outreach, disseminating vital information about flood and property insurance. They also collaborate with communities to provide information and training about the Community Rating System (CRS), enabling them to navigate the complexities of the CRS and floodplain management to earn flood insurance premium discounts for residents and businesses.
