Improving Oil Spill Preparedness and Response in Santa Barbara

Join us as we review challenges faced and lessons learned from the 2015 Refugio spill and discuss improvements in future oil spill response. This day-long workshop is designed to convene practitioners and stakeholders to address social and economic dimensions of oil spills, public health, public communication, spill prevention, and identify research needs for future oil spill response.

Discussion topics will include the following:

1. Suggested protocols to include in existing response and regulatory frameworks
2. Pilot project ideas that address local, state or regional issues
3. Research and outreach priorities
4. List of available resources to address issues
